Drinking Alcohol May Cause Changes In The Bacterial Colony In The Mouth    




It Could Also Cause Alcohol-Related Conditions, Such As Bad Breath And Periodontal Disease    




Drinking alcohol is related to bad breath because it causes dehydration, which leads to dry mouth, promoting the growth of bacteria. But recent studies also linked alcohol consumption to the bacteria responsible for gum disease, which also causes bad breath and a lower abundance of a bacteria related to good oral health called Lactobacillales. The studies also state that the microbial colony in the mouth, composed of more than 700 types of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and that drinking alcohol changes this colony.
